My new study is nearly finished! So I thought I’d take some photos tonight and share them with you. There’s nothing on the walls yet but it’s certainly finished enough to work in, which is good because I’m busy preparing for RoomtoWrite’s weekend conference.
I am amazed and thankful to have such a great space. It feels like a huge luxury, and of course I know that it is.
I could never have imagined as a child, or for a long time into adulthood, that I would one day have a room of my own to work in. My gardening friend and Roomtowrite colleague Gillian asked me if I’d written a poem in it yet. The answer was no, well not yet, but soon – this room is inspirational enough to write anything in! My writing friend and Roomtowrite colleague Wendy told me what a difference it would make. I’m not sure I believed her but she was right. I’ve been able to get through a lot of work and have lots planned. I can’t wait to get up out of bed in the mornings and go into my room! I really can’t quite believe how liberating and inspiring space can be…
A big thank you goes to John for all the decorating and the flatpacking after our trip to IKEA – x
How very lovely. You deserve your own creatives space and I hope you are liberated within it to be the best writing self you can be oh heck! the best and most joyous self you can be in every way. wxx
