I’m off to Kefalonia at the weekend to relax in the sun with my daughter and my father. We don’t plan on doing a lot. The temperature is likely to be in the high 80s. We might make it to Ithaca if we don’t get lost. I’m hoping to have hours with nothing to do but read and write – I’ve got a short story to finish and a new project in mind – a book about writing. Or I might do nothing at all for a whole week! Life’s been very busy these last couple of months so this really is my idea of heaven.

Hi Avril. I hope you find Kefalonia as inspiring as I did when I visited a few years ago. There’s something about the light and the air on the Greek islands, possibly the food and wine, that stimulates poetic thought – for me at least. Perhaps you’ll find a new storyline whilst you’re there.
Hi Judith – it was indeed very beautiful and inspiring and I started work on my new book about writing which I’m very excited about.
When you mentioned Kephalonia in your comment about morning glories, I had to look it up. What a beautiful place!
It is truly beautiful – lush interior, glorious white beaches and blue, blue seas – I’m missing it already!
Oh, lucky you, Avril! What a beautiful place. I’m catching up on your posts. All is lovely on the website and you sound happy, happy and busy. I just signed up for your newsletter. Best wishes for all your endeavors.
Really lovely to hear from you Ann – yes Kefalonia was beautiful! I do hope all has grown well in the garden, what will you do in winter?
