Sitting outside at the Tidetables cafe by the river in Richmond you could be forgiven for thinking yourself in France, especially when the sun shone as it did on Saturday, and we drank coffee and ate chocolate cake, vowing to come back for lunch and their delicious organic vegetarian menu.
The journey to Richmond from Wandsworth Common, currently leafy and green and awash with cow parsley, was unexpectedly crazy. We shared the train packed in like the proverbial sardines with spectators on their way to the rugby sevens at Twickenham. It was a seventies inspired fancy dress event: curly wigs and platform boots – only in London! That said everyone was incredibly friendly and good natured.
The river walk was beautiful, the whole day seemed special from beginning to end – best of all was spending quality time with our daughter and her partner and simply having fun! It was one of those days that you just know will stay with you…..
I’ll have to remember this vegetarian restaurant next time I visit my cousin in Richmond.
The day sounds idyllic. GW
Definitely put it on your ‘to visit’ list -food is mouthwatering!
Sounds just about perfect to me!
Thanks Barb – it was!
